Map of Vermont

This is a map of Vermont. I have included all of the county names and several of the major rivers, but only those towns in Windsor and Orange county where the Fergusons can be found in family documents and census records.

Tunbridge, Orange Co., VT
Ambrose Ferguson, Albert's adopted father, is found in the 1820 census in Tunbridge in Orange Co. He is missing from the 1830 census but I expect that he was either in Tunbridge or had moved down to Woodstorck, where Albert was born, or Sharon, where the family is found in the 1840 census.

Woodstock, Windsor Co., VT
Albert Ferguson was born in Woodstock in Windsor Co. in December 1831-1832 according to the statements he wrote on his Civil War pension records.

Sharon, Windsor Co., VT
Ambrose Ferguson, Albert's adopted father, is found in the 1840 census in Sharon in Windsor Co.

Hartland, Windsor Co., VT
Ambrose Ferguson is listed as the head of household in the 1850 census in Hartland in Windsor Co. The entire family is named in the 1850 census and we can clearly see wife Phoebe and the four children, including Albert A.(age 14).
